Well, well, I see that police have arrested a suspect in the case of Lori Lengfeldt murder. Sausalito electrician’s assistant named Peter Brandt. They found her school notebook in his car, plus other evidence they’re keeping secret. Judging from the picture I’d say they bagged the right bird—private pleasures always leave a trace & his face shows it. I’d make a guess he was waiting to be caught, expecting it, halfway eager. How pretty he is with his wavy blond hair and feminine lips. So in a few months it’s the gas chamber for Mr. Brandt. Public is in the usual snit, everybody wants personally to lynch him. What I’d like to do is go out and piss in the middle of the street, it’ll do as much good as lynching Brandt. Yes. Why not? Later tonight indulge myself for once.

Now what other news this breezy Saturday? Convicts stabbing each other at San Quentin but that’s not unusual, have lost track of how many this year. What else? High Society divorce, front-page news! She gets all the property because he was rude to her in front of guests. He missed his chance, ought to have tied her to the bed, let her suffer for a while, then leave his property to a mound of bloody flesh.

Hmm, let’s see. Not much more that’s interesting. Dog & cat show at the auditorium. Also, some poet up on Green Street sentenced to 30 days for using bad language. Government developed a new type of weapon for use against tanks & armored cars. Getting ready for another war. It’s about time. Hurrah! Also—m-m-m—vandals in a cemetery toppling gravestones. What a shabby circus, and nobody can convince me it isn’t going to get worse.
